MyNotes

MyNotes for students

A simple, fast notebook for class notes, study summaries, and essay drafts — that won't outgrow you, and won't go away when your school email does.

Why MyNotes works for school

Whatever you have at school — a Chromebook, an iPad, a borrowed lab machine, your phone — MyNotes is the same notebook on all of them. Sign in, type, your notes follow you. There's no app to install, no sync setup, no Apple/Google account required, and no chance the lab Mac will lock you out of your own notes.

Built for the actual semester

  • Folders for each course. Keep HIST 201, BIO 110, and your essay drafts separate without ceremony.
  • Pin the chapter you're studying. Pinned notes appear as quick-access chips while editing — your study sheet stays one click away from your assignment.
  • Full-text search. "What did the prof say about market failure" — search the phrase, find the lecture from week 4.
  • Version history per note. Accidentally overwrote your essay outline? Open History, click Restore on any of the last 5 snapshots.
  • Export as .docx or .pdf for submission. One click from the editor. Hand the .docx to your professor; keep the original in MyNotes.
  • Append-only mode for running logs. One note for the lab journal that grows entry by entry — you can append but not accidentally rewrite older entries.

Your notes outlast your school email

MyNotes is tied to whatever email address you sign up with. Use a personal one (Gmail, Proton, Fastmail — anything) and your notes survive graduation, transfers, expired student accounts, and changes of major. From Options, one click exports every note as a .zip of .txt, .docx, and .pdf — keep a copy on a USB, in Drive, anywhere.

Pricing for a student budget

Free for 10 notes forever — enough to test it on a single course. When you outgrow that, the Paid tier is $19 / year for 1,000 notes — fits a full undergrad degree of class notes plus all your essays. No monthly billing and no per-device tier; sign in from as many machines as you like.

We don't have a formal student discount yet. If $19/year is a real barrier, email hello@example.com — we'll work something out.

A few honest limits

  • No native iOS / Android app. The web app installs to your home screen as a PWA — fine for typing, but not as silky as a native app.
  • No offline mode. If you take notes during a lecture in a basement classroom with no signal, MyNotes won't save them. Plan accordingly.
  • No handwriting or stylus drawing. If your style is sketching diagrams, Apple Notes / OneNote / Notability are better fits.
  • No AI summarization built in. By design — and we don't train AI models on your notes either.
